With quiet winding Cornish trails, moorland adventure trails and the national cycle route on our doorstep this is the perfect place to don a cycle helmet and set out for the day. (We can even do you a packed lunch!)
We are only a few pedal turns north of the National Cycle Network known as the 'Cornish Way'. For the more accomplished riders we are just over 70 miles from Lands End, and therefore the perfect place to stop after a hard day of cycling from the tip of Britain. For the more leisurely riders whom may take a day or two to reach us from Lands End we are well located to become the highlight of a wonderful cycling holiday through some of the best scenery in the world.
The most popular cycling in the area is the 'Camel Trail' which runs from just outside Bodmin down to Padstow. There is something for everyone so what are you waiting for?
Bike Hire is available from 'East Rose' moorland farmstead in St. Breward, near Bodmin (Tel: 01208 850674). The rates are: Adults £9 per day (£6 per half day), Juniors £7 per day (£5 per half day). East Rose is a mile and a hailf from the 'Camel Trail', arguably the most scenic and successful recreational trail in the UK, featuring both specatular moorland and coastal views. We can even arrange bike collection for a nominal charge.
The Cornish Way Takes you from Land's End to Bude via alternative routes as the route separates near Truro with one braid going via Padstow and the other going via St Austell. The Cornish Way rejoins again at Bodmin and is a total of 123 miles.
The Cornish Way reveals many highlights along its path, with historic towns and fishing villages as well as the wide variety of landscape found throughout the county. Hidden coves and spectacular beaches are swapped for windswept moorland and rolling countryside. Why not stop at the world famous Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Camel Trail as you make your way up to a warm and relaxing stay with us?
